Against the backdrop of the global financial crisis, professional translators have witnessed extraordinary advances in translation technologies in recent years. The research group Tradumàtica (Translation and Information and Communication Technologies), in conjunction with the Department of Translation and Interpreting of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona —recently designated International Campus of Excellence— are organizing the First International T3L Conference: Tradumatica, Translation Technologies and Localization. The aim of the conference is to bring together active change agents in the sector who, despite the adverse economic circumstances, are interested in exploring new avenues of research and development. Universities and the translation industry are invited to put forward proposals which would, as an outcome of the conference, lead to outstanding university-industry R&D partnerships in cutting-edge research projects with a socio-economic impact on the sector. Amongst others, we would welcome proposals on the following:
The languages of the conference will be: Catalan, English and Spanish.
